The Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West offers a schedule of ever-changing professional learning opportunities open to all educators. As a reminder, these customized services are free for our PD member districts (Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Sylvania, and Washington Local) and may be purchased by another district for a fee, viewable here on our Non-Consulting Services Aligned Districts Fee Schedule.

April Professional Learning Opportunities

Positively Supporting Classroom Behavior Within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Model
Participants will learn research based strategies and interventions to support the behaviors of ALL students, from a Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavior approach.

Amygdala Hijacks Part II
The purpose of this session is to discuss how the strategies presented in the training are being implemented and to discuss additional interventions and strategies for dealing with challenging behavior in the classroom.

Resident Educator Mentor Academy Training
Registrants must successfully complete the 12-hour Mentor Academy Training to receive state mentor certification. The Academy focuses on the role of the mentor and the critical components of instructional mentoring.

NWO STEM Collaborative:
PUTTING BEST PRACTICES IN STEM INTO PLAY
For the final NWO STEM Collaborative of the academic year, we will place focus on putting best educational practices in STEM into play. Two regional STEM leaders from STEM designated schools - Cindy Madanski of Hawkins STEMM and Matt Beakas of Anthony Wayne - will be joining us to lead discussions.

OTES 2.0 Evaluator Training
 The training will provide an understanding of the OTES Framework, including the Summative Matrix and Model, allow the practice of skills such as scripting, evidence analysis/categorizing and coaching, and allow for sharing of resources and best practices in educator evaluation.

Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) - Threat Assessment Team Training
Threat assessment team members will learn to follow a decision-tree process to resolve less serious, transient threats quickly while focusing greater attention on more serious, substantive threats.

SUMMER BOOK STUDY:
What Happed to You? Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing
This book tells the story of how adverse childhood experiences cause deep emotional scars that impact brain development, shape our personalities, and alter our behaviors. The study is conducted asynchronously with two optional Zoom meetings on June 27 and July 24, 2024.
