The Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West offers a schedule of ever-changing professional learning opportunities open to all educators. If you're interested in a topic that isn't listed below, you can always request a professional development session for your building or district by clicking on and filling out this form: District or Building PD Request Form. As a reminder, these customized services are free for our PD member districts (Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Sylvania, and Washington Local) and may be purchased by another district for a fee, viewable here on our Non-Consulting Services Aligned Districts Fee Schedule.

Understanding & Using Attendance Data for Improvement
Join us at the ESC of Lake Erie West as we invite district and school attendance teams to explore the different types of attending reports, look at tools to analyze data and discover strategies to support students attendance, based on data.

May Professional Learning Opportunities

Resident Educator Mentor Training
VIRTUAL
New mentors to the Resident Educator Program are required to successfully complete the 12-hour Mentor Academy Training to receive state mentor certification. This training will be done on your own time during the week of May 4 - 11 with two required Zoom sessions.

VIRTUAL Youth Mental Health First Aid
This 5-hour virtual training is designed to teach adults who work with young people how to help a youth who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.

The SEL Toolbox
Join us for a full day, in-person session designed to equip your Social & Emotional Learning “toolbox” with SEL strategies, interventions and best practices to enhance your school and classroom environment.

Virtual STEM Info Series
Join these monthly virtual sessions to keep a pulse on relevant and helpful STEM topics. This month, we will look at ideas for integrating outdoor STEM into the curriculum.

CSTAG Threat Assessment Training
Level 3 - Refresher
This half-day training supports HB 123 three year threat assessment re-training requirement for established district and/or school threat assessment team members.

High Impact Tutoring Consultancy Series
This 2 day workshop offers a step-by-step guide to launching a tutoring program in your school or district. Join us and receive a High Impact Tutoring Planning Workbook, a Tutor Playbook, and support for resource management.

Level-Up PD: From Box-Checking to Breakthroughs
This interactive series is designed for educators and leaders looking to reimagine professional development to better meet staff needs and achieve lasting impact. Intended for principals, curriculum directors, and district professional development committee members, this session will provide actionable strategies and tools to design and implement professional development that fosters staff growth, builds collaboration, and aligns with district goals to maximize impact and engagement.

Revolutionizing Your School Leadership Strategies with AI
Join internationally-recognized guest speaker, Rebecca Bultsma, as she provides administrators with an engaging and practical session designed to empower with immediately applicable knowledge.

Teacher CAMP
During this week-long, immersive experience for teachers of grades 3-12, participants will explore in-demand occupations by visiting and meeting with local business and industry partners. Teachers will develop authentic curriculum-connected activities to take back to the classroom. A professional learning community and shared resources will provide additional support throughout the school year.
