The Educational Service Center of Lake Erie West offers a schedule of ever-changing professional learning opportunities open to all educators. Please check back often as new topics and session are added often. Click on each image below to find out about our current sessions. If you're interested in a topic that isn't listed below, you can always request a professional development session for your building or district by clicking on and filling out this form: District or Building PD Request Form. As a reminder, these customized services are free for our PD member districts (Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Sylvania, and Washington Local) and may be purchased by another district for a fee, viewable here on our Non-Consulting Services Aligned Districts Fee Schedule.

Expanding Expressions Tool
Learn how this tool can help students from preschool to grade 12 with oral language expression, written language expression, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Virtual Resident Educator Mentor Training
Complete the training on Google Classroom at your own pace during the week. Participants will also be required to attend two Zoom sessions.

NWO STEM Collaborative Session #1
We will highlight the opportunities available to you at the Challenger Learning Center, a pioneer facility in STEM education. The Challenger Learning Center is comprised of space-themed simulated learning environments to engage students in dynamic, hands-on opportunities.

EVAAS Data Refresher for Teachers

ONLINE BOOK STUDY
How to Teach AI in the Classroom
Using Google Classroom, complete assignments and take part in group discussions at your own pace. Learn practical strategies and tools based on what good practice for integrating AI into the classroom looks like in the classroom right now.

Cost: Provided at no additional cost for educators from ESCLEW-sponsored community school and consulting department aligned districts (Maumee, Perrysburg, Rossford, Springfield, Sylvania, and Washington Local). The cost is $50 for educators from all other schools and districts.
Master Teacher Consortium
Do you have what it takes to be considered an Ohio Master Teacher? Do you need to renew your Master Teacher designation? Do you want to be designated as a "consistently high performing teacher"? Register by November 1, 2024 to take part in ESCLEW's consortium.

Learn best practices for teaching mindfulness and yoga to improve student social and emotional skills. Participants will also receive continued access to Wellity Education's K-12 mindfulness and yoga curriculum.

Controlling the Chaos
Join this monthly virtual session to keep a pulse on relevant and helpful STEM topics. These events are open to all educators interested in adding to their STEM toolkit to incorporate the STEM mindset and instructional practices into their classrooms.

Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG)
Threat Assessment Team Training
Threat assessment team members will learn to follow a decision-tree process to resolve less serious, transient threats quickly while focusing greater attention on more serious, substantive threats. Various threat assessment forms and strategies to support the threat assessment process will be shared.

Using TIDE’s CRS
Use TIDE’s Centralized Reporting System to drill into student data. Create customized reports to identify the strengths and weaknesses of individuals, groups, and classes.
