Since 1979, the ESC of Lake Erie West has provided services through the Auxiliary Services Program to students attending nonpublic schools. State funds are allocated per school based on the October ADM and administered by the public school district. The program funding allows counselors, intervention specialists, nurses, psychologists, remedial specialists, and speech pathologists from the ESC of Lake Erie West to work directly with students while supervisors and bookkeepers support the overall program in each school.
Currently, staff members serve students in 23 nonpublic schools across nine districts. Several staff members have received recognition and been awarded grants.
