IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOL BREAKFAST AND LUNCH FOR THE 2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR

All ALC students will receive school meals at NO COST to families for the 2024-25 school year! See information below for more details. 

National School Lunch Program Public Release
ESC of Lake Erie West announced its 2024-2025 program year policy free and reduced price meals or free milk for students unable to pay the full price of meals or milk served under the National School Lunch and School Breakfast, After School Care Snack or Special Milk Programs. Each school office and the central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. The State of Ohio Budget for school year 2024-2025 includes funding to cover the cost of reduced meals for breakfast and lunch. This provision allows schools to provide no cost meals to reduced price meal eligible students. Meal Program

The Alternate Learning Center participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program (NSBL). The types of meals provided by the school meal program encompass standards as defined by the Dietary Guidelines. All meals are provided through an outside vendor and are planned following the standards of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Students order lunch through their homeroom teacher and menus are posted at school. All school lunches are free for all students for the 2024-25 school year.
